Monstah Keys to Patriots week 16 Matchup with Dolphins

If you’re older than Butchie the team you hate almost as much as the jets is the dolphins. Before the days of Brady and Hoodie the game most patriots fans loved to talk about over a beer at the local was “ The Snow Plow Game “  that cold December day when Mark Henderson gave me my buddies and all of New England a day to remember. The only thing that would have made it better is if Bob Griese who was calling the game for NBC would have had a heart attack on air. We hated Miami we hated David Woodley but most of all we hated Don Shula who through the competition committee manipulated the schedule making sure his teams almost never played a game above Washington DC after December first. After this game it was any game where we beat the stinky fish. So every year no matter how great a Patriots team is or how bad Miami might be I don’t really give a damn I want to beat them into the ground. So here are my keys for Saturday’s matchup

Don’t just Show Up : don’t look at the Phins record 5-9 and say “Winning”. This team is 5-2 in their last seven. If this was the start of the season and you were meeting a team that was 5-2 you would take them seriously. Take this team seriously. Their defense is playing much better passing yards have dropped under 225 a game. Opposing QB’s who were torching Miami earlier in the season are now tossing interceptions to that same crew. Eleven in the past seven games.

Receivers Wake up: Welker, Hernandez, Gronk every receiver on this squad have to fight for every ball thrown at them and hold on, to many balls have been going through hands over heads and off body parts too many wrong routs have been run. If that happens this Sunday it may go the other way for six. If your number is called make it count.

D line Step Up : in the first four games this season Reggie Bush was lucky to get three yards a carry . Over the past ten it’s been at five and a half. The front three or four or two have to stop Bush at or behind the line of scrimmage. I’ve talked at nausea on the poor tackling of late and if you can’t stop Bush and force third and long situations its going to be a long day. The front line has to get the job done this week, we can’t cheat our safeties and depend on them to get back and help in coverage.

That’s it folks my three keys to winning and the Pats coming closer to locking up home field for the playoffs.. From Butchie myself and our whole family Merry Christmas and GO PATS GO !
